Activities Schedule
We offer planned activities every weekend, in season! We have some great bluegrass, rock-n-roll, and country bands. DJs playing various music, magicians, jugglers, and comedians. Summer weekends always include hayrides, movies, Bingo, ceramics, and other family fun activities. Storytelling by the campfire, stuff for mom, stuff for dad, and of course lots of stuff for the kids.

April
April 4 - 6 WORKINGMAN’S WEEKEND - Camp with us on our opening weekend and help us around the campground for a few hours on Saturday, and receive a coupon good for one free night of camping during 2008. Saturday night we will provide a spaghetti and salad dinner for all who helped us clean up. Bring rakes and shovels if you want to help!
April 11 - 13 HEROES WEEKEND - Our annual thank you to all the people who risk their lives every day protecting America. We will provide one free night of camping this weekend to anyone who can show proof of their active affiliation as a police, fire, emergency, or military personnel. On Saturday, we will have a memorial service in honor of all of America’s heroes followed by refreshments. (If you can, please wear your uniforms for our Memorial Service.) Decorate your site and show your patriotism in our “Most Patriotic Campsite” Contest. Our DJ will be spinning tunes on Saturday night.
April 18 - 20 BINGO MADNESS - Bingo, Bingo, Bingo! Continental Breakfast Bingo, Junk Food Bingo, Candy Bar Bingo, Door Prize Bingo, Kid's Prize Bingo & Dessert Bar Bingo. (Bring a dessert to share.) Bingo all weekend for everyone. It’s madness!
April 25 - 27 KIDS’ WEEKEND - This is an extra special weekend for kids at the Gettysburg Campground. Saturday will be filled with lots of activities and entertainment. We will have our annual Kids Backwards Luncheon ($). Kids Candy Bar Bingo, and free popcorn for the movies. New this year we will have Mr. Bob Furrer of Bob’s Critters here for a fantastic “critter” adventure.

May 2 - 4 NASCAR WEEKEND - Show your colors and decorate your site after your favorite driver. Win prizes playing in our Trivia contest, decorating your site, or participating in our 13th Annual Matchbox Car Races, “The Gettysburg Campground 500”. Bring your own or buy a wreck (2 oz. max. weight - NO Trucks). Fun for everyone! Watch the race in Richmond on the big screen in our movie room. Our DJ will be spinning tunes on Saturday night.

May 9 - 11 MOTHER’S DAY WEEKEND - Calling all moms. This is your time to relax and enjoy some camping. We will start Saturday with various crafts for everyone to do followed in the afternoon by a Special Bingo game with a chance to win a Boyd’s Bear or two. In the evening, the Adams County Winery will be here for a Mother’s only Wine Appreciation Class. Sunday morning we will have a pancake breakfast free for moms.
May 16 - 18 RELAXING SPRING WEEKEND - Come and enjoy a relaxing weekend – sit by the fire, read a book, fish in the creek or listen to the birds. Saturday evening, listen to the great sounds of Matt Dodd performing Songs and Stories of the Civil War.

May 23 - 26 MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND (3-Night Minimum) - The summer camping season begins! Our pool opens, and we have plenty of activities planned. Our DJ will be spinning tunes and Karaoke on Friday night, Saturday experience tales from Ghostly Images, and on Sunday listen and dance to the sounds of The Powder Keg Band.

May 30 - June 1 RUBBER DUCKY REGATTA WEEKEND - Time to enjoy some peace and quiet relaxing by the campfire. Saturday morning we will have our annual Rubber Ducky Regatta down the mighty Marsh Creek. If you have not seen this you do not want to miss it. Saturday evening Tom Crowl, a ventriloquist, will be here performing for the whole family.
June 6 - 8 CIVIL WAR WEEKEND - Come experience the history at our annual Gettysburg Campground Civil War Encampment. The Gettysburg Brigade will be encamped on site! Learn through the eyes of the soldiers and civilians what it was like to be here during the Civil War. Saturday evening we will have a Civil War dance in which everyone can participate.

June 13 - 15 FATHER’S DAY & "CASHERS FLAT" BLUEGRASS BAND - FThis is Dad’s weekend and we have some plans to make it special. We will have best set of legs contest and a fishing derby with prizes. Saturday night, Cashers Flat is back putting on a super-charged, hard driving traditional bluegrass show. On Sunday morning, will have a pancake breakfast free for Dads.

June 20 - 22 PIG ROAST WEEKEND - This is our pig roast weekend! ($ and reservations required). On Saturday evening, while listening to the great bluegrass sounds of Hanover Express, enjoy some tasty pork BBQ and fixin’s cooked right here on the campground.

June 27 - 29 REBA McENTIRE TRIBUTE - Marie Levin returns to the Gettysburg Campground Saturday evening presenting her tribute show to “Reba.” You will be amazed at the sound-a-like and look-a-like qualities she possesses. Marie's tribute show covers various material from Reba's early career through her most recent work, and has been performed for thousands of fans all over the country. We will start the weekend on Friday night with Ghostly Images spinning spooky tales.

July 3 - 6 JULY 4th HOLIDAY CELEBRATION (3-Night Minimum) -  Celebrate America’s Birthday and see the reenactment of the Battle of Gettysburg on this 145th anniversary. We will have plenty of activities going on at the campground to keep you busy or you can visit the reenactments. We may even have a bit of living history right here as well. On Thursday our DJ will be spinning some great tunes, and on Saturday night a great local band “The Willys” pays us a visit.

July 10 - 13 GETTYSBURG BIKE WEEK & SOCK HOP - Bring back those good old days with Don & Roxy and our Sock Hop dance. Hula Hoop, Dancing, and Bubble Gum Blowing Contests. Fun for the whole family.

July 18 - 20 MID-SUMMER POOL PARTY - Enjoy a weekend camping and cooling off in our pool at our mid-summer pool party! Saturday afternoon our jamming DJ will be poolside spinning some cool tunes. Try your skill at some of our pool contests. Saturday night Ghostly Images will be here with some tales of Gettysburg.

July 25 - 27 CHRISTMAS IN JULY WEEKEND - Bring on Christmas! On Friday our DJ will be here with karaoke and dance music. Saturday we have family fun activities planned including a visit from Santa. Decorate your site and win prizes as well as make our "Festival of Lights" hayride a delightful experience for everyone. Ray Owen will be here in the evening performing some seasonal music and more.

August 1 - 3 ELVIS WEEKEND - MICHAEL HOOVER’S “MEMORIES OF ELVIS” - Michael Hoover is back for our annual Elvis Weekend! Elvis movies, Elvis music, Elvis trivia, and Saturday, Michael Hoover will present his show “Memories Of Elvis”. The show builds with excitement as Michael sings some of the most remembered songs from Elvis's career. This is a must see show, so make your reservation today.
August 8 - 10 RELAXING AUGUST WEEKEND - Enjoy Marsh Creek and the screech owls. Play bingo, mini-golf, shuffleboard, horseshoes, volleyball, board games, or puzzles. Go fishing, watch a movie, read a book, or just sit by the campfire and relax. You deserve it – come enjoy it. Saturday evening Robert Priest will be here with an amazing display of mind reading skill.
August 15 - 17 CRAB FEAST - This is our 2nd annual crab ‘n corn feast. Saturday afternoon enjoy steamed crabs (must pre-order by the dozen; market $) and corn on the cob. On hand to play some “crabby seafaring” tunes will be Mr. Ray Owen.

August 22 - 24 SUMMER’S “ALMOST” OVER POOL PARTY - Saturday evening we are planning a pool party with some great contests and fun for everyone. Our DJ will be poolside playing some great music for your enjoyment.

LABOR DAY WEEKEND (3-Night Minimum) - This year we have planned some great activities. Horseshoe tournaments, no hands Jell-O eating contest, field games and more! Get involved in ceramics, bingo, hayrides, mini-golf, shuffleboard, swimming, movies, fishing, dancing, plus much more. On Friday evening, our DJ will be here playing some great music; Saturday night Ghostly Images will be here; and Sunday night back by popular demand is the "Don & Roxy" Comedy Show.
September 5 - 7 SMORE CAMPING WEEKEND - Labor Day is history but there is still plenty of camping time left. Come on up for “smore” camping at the Gettysburg Campground. Our DJ will be here Saturday night playing some great music.

September 12 - 14 CAR CRUISE & SOCK HOP WITH DON & ROXY - The Roadrunners Car Club of Carroll County will be at Gettysburg Campground with their annual car show and Law Enforcement Memorial fund-raiser. Go back in time and come see some of your favorite classic or custom cars of days past. Campers 16 years of age and older will vote for their choice of car to receive a trophy. On Saturday night, Don & Roxy will be here putting on a real Sock Hop. Enjoy a Hula Hoop Contest, Bubble Gum Blowing Contest, Dance Contests, & Contests for Best Dressed Male & Female 50s Outfit.

September 19 - 21 FOOTBALL WEEKEND - This is your weekend to show your team colors. Decorate your site with your team colors in our site-decorating contest and win prizes. We will have football skill contests, trivia contests, a flag football game and a tailgate party. Saturday evening sit by the campfire while Ghostly Images tells ghostly tales.

September 26 - 28 PIPPINFEST WEEKEND - In the nearby town of Fairfield is the annual Pippinfest festival. Saturday is a giant flea market and Sunday is all crafts. This weekend is also the official grand opening of the new National Park Museum & Visitor Center. Saturday evening our DJ will be spinning some great music.

APPLE HARVEST 1 AND PIG ROAST (2-Night Minimum) - Come enjoy our pig roast ($ Fee and reservations required). This is also the first weekend of the National Apple Harvest Festival. After spending the day at the festival, bring your appetites to a great Pig Roast Dinner with music provided by the C.B. Pickers.

APPLE HARVEST 2 & COLUMBUS DAY WEEKEND (2-Night Minimum) - This is the second weekend of the National Apple Harvest Festival. The Catoctin Fall Colorfest is also happening down in Thurmont, Maryland. After spending time at the Apple Harvest Festival or Colorfest come on back and relax back at your campsite. Saturday evening Tom Jolin will be here performing some great Americana music.

October 17 - 19 HALLOWEEN 1 (2-Night Minimum) - Enjoy a weekend full of haunting adventures. Decorate your own haunted site and win cash prizes. We are planning spooky crafts, ceramics, pumpkin hunts, adult & children costume contests, trick-or-treating, haunted hayrides, & the return of the scary MAZE OF DOOM. Saturday night at our Halloween Dance enjoy the sounds of the “Powder Keg Band”.
October 24 - 26 HALLOWEEN 2 (2-Night Minimum) - Enjoy a weekend full of haunting adventures. Decorate your own haunted site and win cash prizes. We are planning spooky crafts, ceramics, adult & children pumpkin decorating contests (bring your own pumpkin), adult & children costume contests, trick-or-treating, haunted hayrides, & the return of the scary MAZE OF DOOM. Saturday night at our Halloween Dance enjoy the sounds of the “Roll The Dice Band”.

November 21 - 23 REMEMBRANCE DAY WEEKEND - An annual event of remembrance with many activities in town including a parade and illuminations placed on civil war graves in the Soldiers National Cemetery. The reenactment of President Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address will be on Wednesday, November 19. Re-enactors are always welcome to our campground!
